Trauma-Informed Organizational Practices (TIOP) scale

TIOP examines how organizations recognize and respond to trauma. Following a systematic review of more than 2,300 studies and
a multi-phase validation process, the authors developed a 37-item measure assessing the extent to which organizations realize, recognize, and respond to trauma while resisting re-traumatization. This scale demonstrates high reliability and conceptual clarity across domains such as leadership, policy, and environmental safety, offering an evidence-based framework for fostering resilience and equity among employees with lived experiences of trauma.
